Mechanic: Provide the maintenance and repair of Valley Transit Commuter fleet and facilties; coordinate with the staff to ensure procedures for safe working conditions; ensure Valley Transit compliance with ARRC rules and regulations by all personnel. Responsible for maintenance, and repair of vehicles, establishment and continual maintenance fleet service records. Coordinate and schedule vehicles for preventive maintenance. Schedule is Monday-Friday 9a-6p with hour lunch, must be avaiablable for call outs.
Maintains Audit and Operational Testing records. Prepare and maintain vehicle specifications that would be used by Valley Transit. Diagnose vehicular problems and make arrangements for repairs.
Takes action to correct safety deficiencies and provide a safe working environment.
Inspects equipment and vehicles for fleet safety and compliance with industry standards for FRA, OSHA, ANSI and NIOSH and other pertinent regulations. Resolve vehicle breakdowns when they occur including performance of road calls and related travel when breakdowns occur in route. Investigates accidents and incidents and provides information to Valley Transit management’s staff and the Board of Directors as needed. Audits transit operating personnel for compliance with ARRC Rules and Regulations as well as all applicable Valley Transit policies and procedures.
Works with procurement staff to acquire and stock equipment components through best management practice. Monitors purchases of equipment related materials to ensure efficient utilization of budgeted resources. Ensures ARRC purchasing policies and procedures are adhered to. Work closely with vendors for repairs, tires, etc. Dispatch substitute vehicles during breakdown emergencies and document breakdown in vehicle file.
Document and record all commuter maintenance, repairs, tire rotation, mileage traveled and replacement service to file and document as directed by the Commuter Manager and/or Executive Director for Board Reports.

Transit Manager: Play a vital role in empowering individuals to confidently navigate public transportation. This dynamic position involves providing personalized travel training, fostering independence, and enhancing community mobility for diverse populations. You will serve as a knowledgeable guide, helping riders understand transit routes, schedules, fare options, and safety procedures and provide oversite to customer service and quality control of transit service. You will be the liason between the riders and our operation! This position ensures high-quality, accessible, and responsive customer service and supports riders in learning how to safely and independently use public transportation services. The role combines front-line rider support, staff coordination, community outreach, and documentation in compliance with Federal Transit Administration (FTA).Your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire confidence and promote accessible transportation solutions for all.
Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one and group training sessions to educate riders on using transit services effectively and safely
- Develop customized travel plans that meet individual needs, including route planning and fare management
- Demonstrate how to access transit stops, use ticketing machines, and navigate transit systems confidently
- Assist riders in understanding safety protocols and emergency procedures during their journeys
- Collaborate with community organizations, social service agencies, and stakeholders to identify training opportunities and outreach efforts
- Maintain detailed records of training sessions, rider progress, and feedback to improve service delivery
- Stay informed about transit system updates, route changes, and new technologies to provide accurate guidance
- Ensure customer service practices align with ADA, Title VI, and agency policies
- Accompany trainees on practice trips to build confidence and independent travel skills.
- Manage daily customer service operations, including phone, email, and in-person inquiries.
- Coordinate with social service agencies, tribal organizations, senior centers, schools, and community partners.
- Conduct outreach presentations and develop informational materials promoting transit services and travel training programs.
- Serve as a liaison between riders, customer service staff, and transit operations.
- Maintain customer service policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Supervise and support customer service and dispatch staff, as applicable.
- Handle escalated customer concerns, complaints, and service issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Track and analyze customer feedback, complaints, and service trends to recommend improvements.
- Adapt training methods to meet individual mobility, cognitive, sensory, or language needs.
- Educate riders on safety procedures, winter travel considerations, and emergency protocols.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Public Administration, Communications, or related field preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of public transportation systems and ADA accessibility requirements (or ability to learn).
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Proficiency with computers, customer service tracking, and basic reporting tools.
- Familiarity with local geography and community resources.
- Ability to work safely in varying weather and field conditions.

Customer Service Represenetaive:Customer Service Representatives serve as the primary point of contact for the public and drivers, ensuring safe, efficient, and courteous operation of the transit system. Responsible for the scheduling, dispatching, and communication with drivers while providing excellent customer service.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Schedule and dispatch for service. Trip scheduling in accordance with company policy, answer customer inquiries regarding their scheduled trips, and perform dispatch duties and other general duties. Communication daily with drivers to coordinate schedules including service interruptions, delays and emergencies. Update service information in software and logs. Assist with vehicle assignments, relaying maintenance concerns to maintenance and management. Maintains a high level of professionalism in the conduct of all duties.
Answering phones, email, and walk in inquiries regarding service, schedule, and fares. Scheduling and providing agency service information accurately and courteously, utilizing software. Handle complaints, compliments, and feedback professionally, representing the agency positively and courteously at all times.
